Hello! My name is Roux, and my Signature project this year is writing an all-new version of the German legend Faust, in play format. The idea is to combine the themes of Christopher Marlowe's and Wolfgang von Goethe's plays on the subject to create a version focused more on what it means to be human, with updated language and an exploration of the dynamic between the two main characters, the scholar Dr. Faustus and a devil named Mephistopheles.

I first started thinking about writing a play as my Signature project three years ago, in freshman year, and I think it's about time to make it happen.
